Since the age of twelve, Mary Ann knew she wanted to be a painter. Born and raised in Northeast Ohio, Mary Ann’s art is informed by the natural beauty of Northeast Ohio; particularly of Geauga County. Mary Ann’s expressive paintings resonate with her love of the natural world. Her paintings emphasize the energy of the brushstroke and have an abundant use of color. This energetic style and freedom with color is carried over into Mary Ann’s abstract works. Along with her landscapes, these paintings further emphasize her love of personal expression allowed through the painting process.
Mary Ann has her degree in Fine Arts from Hiram College and has been painting for 40 years. She has exhibited in Ohio in numerous juried exhibitions and has had several solo shows. Currently, her work is represented by the Artisan’s Corner Gallery in Newbury, Ohio, MCGallery in South Russell, Ohio, and the Bonfoey Gallery in Cleveland, Ohio. Mary Ann’s work is also in private collections, most notably in that of television personality Patricia Heaton of Everybody Loves Raymond and The Middle, YouTube Personality Coyote Peterson, and local singer-songwriter Alex Bevan.
