Einstein said,

“In the middle of every difficulty lies opportunity.”

As we are faced with probably the most significant human crises anyone of us has ever had to deal with in our lifetime, I wanted to take a moment and reach out to express how deeply and sincerely that I hope that you all are safe and healthy!

Art, as you know, is not a necessity. However, for those of us who create it is an essential part of our soul. As we are physically and socially isolated, now comes the opportunity for you to share your thoughts, ideas, interpretation, and creativity. In January, I had announced the art challenge for 2020, “BLUE.”

When the group got together and chose blue for the Pantone color of the year, I bet they no idea how relevant it would become to all of us. ??? More than a color!!!

“Blue” – adjective (SAD) [After verb] informal Feeling or showing sadness:

Art over the ages has always reflected the current climate of the world, so I challenge you to take this time and create!

All work must be “Blue” with a minimum of 80% blue color representation. Work will be judged on creativity, technique, use of the selected medium, and execution of the theme.

The entry fee is $15.00 for one or $25.00 for three. All work must be newly created and ready to hang. Displays for sculptures/3D art will be provided by the gallery. Drop off is August 27, 2020, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. Unaccepted work picked up on 8/29/20 between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm.
