Drypoint Without a Press
The instructor will supply all materials except the image that you prefer, so please bring an assortment of images that you would like to work with. Drypoint begins by scratching the image into a piece of plexiglass followed by dobbing ink completely over the scratched plexiglass. You will learn how to create light and dark areas of your work by using various techniques. Once fully inked, a piece of paper is placed over the inked image with another piece of paper covering it, then a metal spoon is used to press down, so it releases the ink from the scratches onto the paper. Once you pull up the paper the image is transferred onto the paper and Wala…you have a beautiful piece of art!
