Join us for October First Friday
October 1 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Join us Friday, October 1st from 5 pm-7 pm for our “All in the Family” First Friday.
This month we are excited to feature three very talented women: Sharon Scheinbart and he daughters Rhona Williams and Annie Becker. These three ladies ( and relatives) exhibit very individual talents, but all of their work shares a common whimsical theme.
Sharon works mainly in pottery, sculpting creatures that are dear to her. Turtles, dogs, cats, birds, and some very quirky folks are her most common subjects. She and her husband David are passionate animal lovers and champions for Rescue Village. The personalities she infuses into her creations are evident when you look at their faces.
Rhona’s whimsy comes in the form of fun and stylish paintings done on glass. Her paintings portray stylized animals, plants, and flowers which she frames using vintage frames she has collected thru her work with Vintage House Salvage. Rhona has a Bachelor of Arts degree in studio art from Miami University in Oxford and when she is not busy with her art she is busy with her two children, 21-year-old Claire, and 16-year-old Truman.
Annies’ artwork is all about second chances and new beginnings. She likes to create something out of nothing with the hopes of sparking memories and smiles along the way. A vintage metal Band-Aid box may appear as the body of a fantastical robot, or an antique lightbulb may make an appearance as the head of a lovable dog. Everything deserves a second chance, right? Prior to embarking on her artist career, Annie worked in the advertising industry where she cultivated her creative nature. Along with focusing on her art, she is kept busy with her son, Elliot, 16.
We hope that you will stop in and learn more about these three creative ladies, Friday, October, 1st, 5 pm-7 pm. An artists talk will take place at 6 pm. Refreshments will be served.
