I’d like to introduce Nico DeCarlo, a 12-year-old up-and-coming artist from Burton.

This talented young man caught my attention so much with his artistic abilities that Nico will be our featured artist on April 7^th for First Friday.

His family realized when he was three years old that he had a gift for art and has since supported his passion.  As a child with ADHD, drawing is the creative outlet that allows him to express himself and as he says, “it’s one of the ways to relieve stress.” (Yes, he’s already beyond his years!) He also says, “I’ve been drawing, coloring, and painting in personal books, journals, and sketch pads when I’m not busy with schoolwork or baseball. My favorite art style is anything that involves replacing heads with ordinary objects. After years of practice, I would say I’m a pretty good artist for my age.” He continued saying, “I’m excited to have the wonderful opportunity to display my art at a special show at Artisans’ Corner Gallery and can’t wait to meet everyone!”

I hope you all will join us in welcoming Nico DeCarlo at our quarterly First Friday on April 7^th from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm. His youthful enthusiasm and passion for art just might be what we need to reignite the inner child artist within us!

Also, we will announce the winner of the CopyCat Challenge.
