Our featured artist will be Barb Everett, and a special guest, Author Jennifer Boresz Engelking who will be here for a book signing of her latest release, “Hidden History of Lake County, Ohio” Many of you know that back in the day, what is now Lake County was, in fact, part of Geauga County. So many other fascinating facts to learn!
Enjoy refreshments, an evening of visual and mental stimulation, and listen as we have a little meet the Artist Barb and Emmy-nominated writer/producer Jennifer, to learn about their creative journey and careers. I think you will find it fascinating and informative.

I came to painting rather late in life. In fact, I call myself “the accidental artist.” After all, I signed up for an art class my best friend, a portrait artist, was teaching because I liked the social outlet, and most importantly, I wanted “to do lunch.” All that has changed drastically. I am now a passionate artist. I paint daily, and if I am not working on a painting, I am practicing skills or watching YouTube videos to learn new techniques.
My degree is in education, but my strength has always been the creative ideas I bring to the table. I think every painting has at least 2 parts, technical skills and creative interpretation. Like every other area of my life, the creative is what makes my work unique. I wouldn’t say I like to render a painting; I like to exaggerate color, size, or shape to tell my story.
I am inspired by my grandchildren, cities, florals, landscapes, and abstracts in which color, shape, and texture dominate.
