Lori Fuller
I was born in Ohio and grew up in Mentor. My favorite class was, of course, Art and my love for clay began in high school at Mentor High. I later graduated from Kent State University with a Master’s in art education and an emphasis in ceramics. After teaching for twenty-five years, I am now enjoying doing ceramics out of my home studio in Mesopotamia. My husband Bruce and I are inspired by the beauty of God’s creation as we explore mountains, rocks, and streams. The earthy, texture slab work I do is a reflection of my love of the natural textures of rocks, streambeds, and bark. I feel like it’s somewhat of a collaboration with nature as I stretch out the clay and it demonstrates its characteristics of cracking and stretching.
First Friday hosts an evening of Art, Refreshments and an all around good time right in here in Geauga County. Enjoy an evening spending time with the local artist and meet new artists who’re featured for the month, listen to the artist give a talk about how they approach their art and what inspires them to create. Free and open to the public!
